ISDE Spain 2024 | Day 3 Highlights & Results

Next

Day 3 of the 2024 ISDE in Galicia, Spain saw more rain, which created slick conditions and many crashes. Even the fastest rider of the day, Josep Garcia Montana, went down at least once. A new course that was more technical and put the racers on the bike for 8 hours really put human and machine to the test. A blind rock jump that you couldn’t afford to come up short on proved to be a crowd favorite.

Here’s what went down in the Trophy classes:
World Trophy top three remained the same, with the French team retaining their lead, and even stretching it out a touch. The big story here was the American team. Led by Dante Oliveira, Team U.S.A. cut into the lead that Spain held over them with a furious effort. At the end of the day they were only 8 seconds back of the 2nd place Spaniards.

Women’s World Trophy saw Team U.S.A. lengthen their lead over the field with another fantastic effort from Brandy Richards. Australia and Sweden are about 3 ½ minutes back, and 12 ½ minutes back respectively.

Junior World Trophy action included Sweden increasing their lead. They are now around 2 minutes ahead of France and 8 minutes faster than the U.S. Juniors. Tough times for Mateo Olivera and Jason Tino didn’t help things any.

Here’s the skinny for the Club Team Classes:
Italy’s Club Team continued to impress on day 3, maintaining their lead overall. American team GTBN is hanging on the podium, remaining in 3rd place. The American XC Gear Team has moved into 4th position with some phenomenal riding today. The riders on this team are Cooper Jones, Cole Whitmer, and Hunter Smith. Nice work men.

The team we have a personal interest in here at MojoMotoSport is US Sprint Enduro. Anson Maloney, Zachary Toth, and Anthony Ferrante are riding like their hair is on fire, cracking into the top ten today, a solid 8th place overall after day 3. Ferrante is leading the charge with fast times and consistent effort.

The Elizabeth Scott Community Team also moved into the top ten, sitting in 9th after the day. Lane Lorenzo, Alex Dorsey, and Ryder Thomaselli on his 125 2-stroke are killing it. Team U.S.A. has FOUR Club Teams in the top ten now, what a great accomplishment.

In the Women’s Club Team Division, The Eric Cleveland Memorial gals rode very clean, and have extended their lead to 50 minutes over Great Britain and 90 minutes over Canada. Nice work ladies!

Team U.S.A. has done very well after three days of ISDE this year. With continued good effort and a ton of luck, we should definitely see some hardware when it’s over and done with. We’ll recap the action again tomorrow.

GO TEAM U.S.A. !!
